I’m on my 4th day since I started my perfect skin detox, and what a few days it has been! If you’re not sure what I’m talking about, read here.
How I’ve been doing:
I’m not gonna lie or sugarcoat this whole process at all. Just the simple honest truth is what you’ll get out of me! It’s been tough. I’ve been pretty hungry and dreaming about cheese and all sorts of cheese filled junk foods! I have been trying to keep my mind occupied and keeping myself busy which has helped. The first 2 days I was very tired and pretty much stayed in bed all day. All of this was to be expected, I wasn’t unaware of the effects the first few days of detox would have. It is my body rejecting and pushing to the surface all of the nasty toxins that have accumulated in my cells since I was little. What I do know is this is a temporary feeling and detox experts urge you to have patience and stay strong throughout this process. Once the toxins are out, the nutrients will come in and things will be better! So I refused to break and boy am I glad I did because today I seem to have tons of energy!
What I’ve been having in the past few days is a combo of veggies & fruit juiced 4x/day and lots of water and hot lemon water. I try to mix up the ingredients of my juice, usually it’s any combo of the following greens with a couple of fruits. I try to keep it in a 70/30 ratio of veggies to fruit:
-Kale
-Spinach
-Collards
-Romaine Lettuce
-Celery
-Cucumber
-Parsley
-Cilantro
-Ginger
-Beets
-Carrots
-Apples
-Orange
-Lemon
Now if you are inspired to try a detox like this one, please talk to your doctor first about it. Once you’ve gotten his/her permission, read up on the whole detoxification process. Once you start juicing, remember to always vary your juice recipes (there are tons of recipes out there!). There is no easier way to break a cleanse than by being bored. And please try not to focus too much on the weight loss you will experience! I mean it is a pretty awesome benefit, but it is mostly water weight you will be losing. Plus you don’t want to run the risk of setting yourself up for a massive binge once you are done. Instead pay attention to how your body feels and how your skin looks instead! And good luck!!
Cheers
