Bobbi Brown , creator of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, has launched a new book recently titled Bobbi Brown Beauty Rules. It’s a pretty good book, it takes you back to the basics on how to apply makeup and contains a lot of natural looks. It is aimed towards teens and twenty-somethings. I love Bobbi Brown, I think she’s an amazing artist and her makeup line is beautiful, and with this latest book she really brings focus to makeup being used as an extension of beauty, rather than it’s replacement. I need a few of her books, but I have to say.. the ‘rules’ aspect of the title puts me off. It’s strange too, since the woman and her line is fab. I think it’s a ‘Don’t tell me what to do!’ mindset. LOL
I totally know what you mean about the rules thing. I think this is a good book for beginners who know nothing and need to learn the basics. It’s like going to makeup school. You learn all the rules and then you’re sent out into the world and told to break them, but you wouldn’t know which ones to break if you didn’t learn the basics. Lol
