So if you’ve been wondering what I’ve been up to for the past while…well I’ve been hosting a TV show! The show is called Eye on Asia and it’s a South Asian program focusing on entertainment and lifestyle issues for the South Asian community. With that, I was asked to host the annual Scotiabank Chin International picnic! No pressure right? Just me on stage talking in front of thousands of people. Honestly it was so much fun, my nerves pretty much vanished within the 1st minute I was on stage, because the crowd was amazing!
Anyways, this post shows how I carried my makeup/hair through 1 day and 3 outfit changes. When you’re hosting you really don’t have a ton of time to change your look between acts so I had to pre-plan and work fast.
The first thing I did when getting my base look ready was to make sure I used primers (face, eyes and lips) to help the look last throughout the day and I used neutral colored shadows on the eyes.
Here’s my co-host Jora Sahota and I on stage kicking off the concert.
For the second look because I had on a brighter outfit, I played up my lips a bit more to match the fuchsia color. I kept my hair the same for this look.
Here’s my TV co-host Darshan Sahota and I introducing one of the acts.
For the final look I was introducing Bhangra singing legend, Jazzy B so I wanted to go for more of a traditional look. I threw on a bright red lip (MAC Ruby Woo) and put a parandhi in my hair!! For those of you who are unfamiliar with what a parandhi is, it’s basically a really long hair extension usually made out of black string with colorful tassels at the end. Now because my hair color is ombre and very blond at the ends I had to wrap blond extensions around the parandhi before I braided it through my hair. The result worked pretty well I think!
