Want to update your winter wardrobe but not sure where to start? Well look no further, we have the top trends seen on the runways for this season.
1. Military. This was definitely a strong trend on the runways, the look was noticeably more feminine with a tighter more flattering fit and was seen incorporated into trenches, shirt dresses and pants. Opt for a cut that flatters your body shape.
2. Leather. While leather is usually a designer staple during the cooler winter months, it was definitely more prevalent this years thanks in part to summer’s color blocking trend. Colored leather skirts, jackets and pants are everywhere this season. If you’re more of a play it safe type, don’t worry black leather is still a great choice as black leather skinny leggings are a wardrobe must, as well as cute black leather motorcycle jackets.
3. Fur. The controversial material has always been a touchy topic but there’s no denying it was seen everywhere on the runways this year. Now if you’re not comfortable wearing the real deal, you don’t need to opt out of this trend completely. There have been some great advancements in fabric development and faux fur isn’t as synthetic feeling as it used to be. If a coat is too much for you, you can always opt for a fur vest paired with a turtle neck and leather leggings.
4. Peplum. We started seeing this trend in the summer months, but it is definitely more
popular now than ever before. The style has been carried across from dresses to tops and now winter coats (so cute!) thanks mostly to its universally flattering shape. Not to mention it’s the perfect cut to hide those pesky holiday pounds that inevitably show up!
