About a month ago we threw a big party for my brother in anticipation for his wedding. It’s called “Sangeet ki Raat” which means a night of song & dance. We perform some traditions on the groom or bride, followed by the ladies singing old folk songs and dancing. We had a DJ take over and we ended up dancing until 3:30 in the morning! I love our parties 🙂
I wore a pink and green net sari and tons of jewelry. I LOVE dressing up so it’s a good thing I was born Indian cause I take full advantage of the outfits and jewelry. Lol. The outfit itself was pretty darn colorful so I kept all the accessories neutral- gold with clear crystals.
Here’s a pic of my cousin’s and me. We had the traditional ceremony inside and then the party in a tent outside.
My cousin Monique and I performed a little dance number where she was pretending to be my hubby and chasing me around. Love how we both got so into character.
My makeup and hair- I wanted to incorporate both pink & green in my makeup so I used fuchsia in my crease and green as my lower lid liner and a hot pink lipstick to complete the look.
For my hair I wanted to wear it off my back because the back of my blouse was extremely low cut, but I didn’t want to wear it high so I decided to do side pinned curls. Here is the tutorial on how to recreate this look.
Have you guys been to any fun parties this summer? Someone please tell Fall to stay far, far away!!
