For those of you who have been following me on my “quest for perfect skin detox“, guess what..I made it through the 10 day juice fast!! It was pretty tough for the first few days, it’s crazy how emotionally attached we get to food. Letting that go is hard because without that yummy dinner or delicious dessert to look forward too, the days just kinda seem the same. That was something I had to deal with on a mental level, and the thing that got me through it all- the energy! I had so much energy from juicing all those greens, my attention was heightened, at times I felt a bit of a high which was pretty cool since it was all legal. LOL. Come on, you know u wanna laugh. Anyways, I’m on my first day of solid food and can I say I am actually looking forward to eating fruits & veggies which I never dreamt would happen. Ever.
So I’m onto the 2nd phase of my detox and here’s the plan:
20 days of fruits, veggies, nuts, beans & lentils. I will eat mostly raw fruits & veggies with the occasional cooked veggie. I’ll still be doing a green juice in the morning. Here’s my first meal in 10 days!!~
Oh and as for how my skin is doing, a funny thing happened. My eczema totally went into overdrive around day 5, and since then has totally calmed down. Guess all the nasty stuff in my body was coming to the surface. Can’t wait to see how it looks at the end of this.
This whole process has got me wondering- have any of you tried a detox? What did you do and what was it like?
