Last week a few friends and I went down to New York City. It was so much fun because it was pretty last minute for me, I only decided the day before to join them. It’s only about an 8 hour drive from where we are so it’s not too far at all. We stayed right by Times Square which is the craziest place ever!
There are literally so many people in Times Square and so many fun shops & restaurants. I couldn’t resist when I saw Carlo’s bakery. I LOVE the show Cake Boss! I watch it at the gym when I’m running lol. I know that doesn’t make sense but it makes me happy 🙂 I just think that Buddy Valastro did such an amazing job carrying on his Dad’s legacy, he’s definitely an inspiration.
No trip to NYC would be complete without a trip to Sephora Times Square. I have to admit, it’s a lot smaller than it should be, but there are lines there I haven’t see anywhere else. My fav find? This Becca x Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector. Gorgeous!!
We yelped the best bar in Times Square and ended up at Jimmy’s Corner. $4 drinks. Jus sayin. This is me with one of our CHCH TV camera guys, Dave and one of our production assistants, Alex. Great people 🙂
Next up my friend Miranda and I (one of our news anchors) met up with her friend, DJ Ammo, who works with the Black Eyed Peas and we all went to this event at a place called Gotham Hall. It honestly felt like something out of Gossip girl, it was so beautiful!
Of course I had to take a pic with Apple de Ap from the Black Eyed Peas!
Ok seriously one of my fav things about the states is bottomless mimosa brunch. I can’t seem to find that anywhere around Toronto. If any of you know of some good places in the GTA, please comment below. We ended up at CK14 The Crooked Knife. Delicious.
This was my first time actually walking through Central Park. I’d been by it before and walked a bit into it, but this time spent some time and walked through it. I had to take a pic of this cause I’ve seen this part with the long line of trees and benches in tons of movies and definitely in one of my fav shows, Impractical Jokers.
Strawberry Fields was the place that John Lennon from the Beatles was killed. Sad.
Ok everyone needs to visit this spot, the 9/11 Memorial. It’s so surreal just how enormous the building actually was. The waterfall is beautiful but sad at the same time as the water disappears at the bottom, makes you think about all the lives that were lost on that day. 🙁
Ok onto less sad stuff, Pizza!!! No trip to New York is complete without some authentic, Italian, thin crust Margherita pizza. Yumm. This one is from Celeste on the Upper West side.
And that’s my trip! Any suggestions for places to visit on future NYC trips? Let me know in the comments!
