Last week was arguably one of the best weeks ever as I got to attend the week long Vanity Fair Social Club in Hollywood. Every day was filled with panels of experts and people in the movie business, makeovers, delicious food and endless champagne. There was so much going on that I had to break this up into 2 posts. I’ll post part 2 tomorrow.
The VFSC event was held inside the We Work space in Hollywood, just 2 blocks down from the Oscars setup at the Kodak Theatre.
The first day featured a panel of Youtube All Stars- Tyler Oakley, iJustine and Joey Graceffa. These Youtubers each have millions of followers. Crazy. They were all so nice and down to earth 🙂
We got to listen to Costume designer Colleen Atwood discuss what goes into designing a wardrobe for a film and preview her collection of handbags. Colleen is an 11 time Oscar nominee and was nominated this year for her work in the film Into the Woods.
We listened to a panel of Movie critics discussing their Oscar predictions. It was pretty unanimous that Birdman was a front runner (it won best picture).
One of my fav moments was listening to the architect behind the annual Vanity Fair after party, Basil Walter. He showed us where his inspiration for design comes from and how much work actually goes into throwing the parties.
My other fav moment was meeting TV Host and author Louise Roe and Celeb stylist and co-host of E’s Fashion Police Brad Goreski. Love these two! Louise Roe is the queen of the makeover show (my fav kind to watch) and Brad (he’s Canadian too!) used to be on the Rachel Zoe project and is an amazing stylist.
SNL’s legendary photographers Edie Baskin and Mary Ellen Matthews were also on hand discussing the behind the scenes of the celeb stills you’ll see between commercials on SNL.
Bloggers at work!
Check back tomorrow as I’ll have all the fun behind the scenes pics of the event plus the celebs I got to meet 🙂
