It’s that time again, the Winter Olympics are here! It’s hard to believe it’s been 4 years since Team Canada kicked Team USA’s butt in Olympic hockey! I’m def looking forward to a repeat, and also to see Shaun White on the halfpipe, he’s just sooo good.
I wanted to talk about how to Olympic proof your makeup routine, and what I mean by that is tips on how to make sure your makeup will stay in place all day. Some of you out there are pretty active and I’m sure you’ve encountered problems with makeup not lasting, or half way through your day your eyeliner is half way down your cheeks. Well, here are my top tips on making it last all day:
-Waterproof mascara & eyeliner are a must. I’m sure you already know this one, but a lot of people will avoid it because it’s so hard to get off at the end of the night. I’m here to tell you that waterproof makeup removers have come a long way. Just invest in a good quality waterproof eye makeup remover like Lancome’s Bi-facil or MAC’s Cleanse off Oil which can actually clean the entire face rather effortlessly
– Less is more when it comes to concealer & foundation. If you really want to cover problem skin, find a full coverage foundation and apply it very lightly with a buffing brush or a Beauty blender sponge, and go very easy with your concealer. The result will be natural looking, covered skin that will last. There are some great waterproof products out there, in particular I love Tarte’s Amazonian Clay line. If you are okay with powder foundations, that is a good option as well-When it comes to color products, Make Up For Ever’s Aqua collection has an amazing shade range of everything from eyeshadows to blush colors to lipsticks that totally last on the skin, definitely worth checking out-If you have a color product that you love that isn’t waterproof and you just can’t go through your makeup routine without it, Illamasqua has a great product called Sealing Gel, that will lock in your color all day. It is a liquid that you mix into your product which makes it waterproof
Have you been watching the Olympics? Which sport are you looking forward to?
