So you’re going for a textured look with your hair, but you’re not sure what to use to achieve this look. There are so many options out there, it can be confusing to know which to use for what. Hair pomade and wax are no exceptions. There isn’t a whole lot of difference between them, but how do you know which one to use?
Hair wax can be applied to wet or dry hair (it’s much easier to apply on wet hair). and is better used on short/medium length hair. It works best if you warm it up with your hands first and is great for clumping hair together or to add points to your hair if you have a bob.
Hair pomade does have some wax in it, the remainder is usually an oil based substance and it is applied to wet hair. It works great when applied in large amounts and will give the hair a glossier look. Hair pomade can be used on short, medium or even long hair and can even be used in smaller sections to give that textured, piecey look.
Whichever of the two you decide to go with, both will offer texture and medium hold, the main difference between the two is that wax will give you a matte look and pomade will offer a nice shine to the hair.
What are your fav wax/pomade products?

Thanks! This looks is beautiful. It is somewhat similar to the Aishwarya look I already have posted here. Hope that helps!
