Here are a list of items I feel are necessary for every South Asian woman (or those women close in color and tone):
Eyeshadows: MAC-All that Glitters, Woodwinked, Sketch, Embark, Carbon and Ricepaper (Arena if you’re darker)
Blushes: MAC- Melba, Pinch o’ Peach, Mocha and Desert Rose
Lipsticks: MAC- “O”, Cherish, Dubonnet, Twig and See Sheer
You can create great looks with these colors and it’s a good base to start your collection from. Don’t be afraid to experiment by mixing colors together, remember makeup is meant to be fun, it is art after all!

Which of these blushes would go with a red lip? Is there a rule for matching lip colour to the cheek colour? If so can you pls give a rough guideline? Thanks!
Deepa Berar says
I like Desert Rose with a red lip, but applied very lightly otherwise it can look like too much color. The general rule for lip/cheek color is that they should be in the same color family, i.e. warmer tones together and cooler tones together.

I bought twig and see sheer after reading about them here. Can you tell me what lip pencil to pair with twig? I have tried it with half red.
Also, I’m really not enjoying see sheer. I have tried it with spice and chicory lip pencils. Which lip pencil exactly goes with see sheer?
Deepa Berar says
For Twig I like Whirl lipliner..for See Sheer, well it depends on what you want it to look like. If you want it to be brighter, try Soar lipliner, if you want it to be toned down, try Whirl or Subculture even. There isn’t one that goes exactly with it, so try playing around with the different liners.

Can you use lipsticks like twig, see sheer and dubonnet in your tutorials?

For sure! I’m so surprised I haven’t yet, those are great colors!
