This is the look I wore New Years Eve, definitely a lot of fun to wear. It was gold and glittery, very festive with tons of black to make it pop even more. Here’s how I did it:
1. I used the MAC paintpot in Painterly as my primer, applying it all over the entire eye. I find this works better when working with glitter as it stays creamy for a little longer which is important when you need the glitter to stay put the whole night.
2. I pressed MAC Reflects Gold onto the lid using my finger. Using your finger allows you to pick up more glitter at a time and doesn’t get glitter all over your brushes.
3. Next I applied Carbon in the eye crease using the MAC #217 brush. I kept adding more and more until I got it really dark.
4. The highlight color I used for under the arch of the eyebrow and the inner eye corner was MAC pigment in Vanilla. I love this color for adding more visual drama.
5. The liner I used was Smashbox Jet Set in Black and on the inner rim of the eye I used MAC eyeliner pencil in smolder.
Now you can use whatever lipcolor you choose, in this case I used Nars Chelsea Girls. I liked it for the contrast it created with a dramatic eye and nude lip. Give it a try, let me know if you have any questions!!

WOW! That is such a sexy look! It really complements you. You have inspired me, who is make-up challenged! Thanks!

Hey! Nice look… just wondering.. if you put the glitter on all over and the blend carbon over it (i’m assuming that’s a pot of eyeshadow vs pigment), then doesn’t the glitter come off?
Just wondering, cuz i picked up a bunch of pigments and a glitter at a MAC sale and i’m not sure how to apply them…trying to use your tips here to figure them out 🙂

Thanks! It does come off a little but what I usually do at the end is go back with the glitter and press it onto the eye again to make the glitter pop.
