This past weekend I wore a look that had a lot of customers and friends asking, how did you do that? The look was strong, smoky and green. First start with a primer of course, all over the eye. Second apply a black gel liner such as Smashbox Jet Set, or MAC Blacktrack Fludline just on the eyelid, concentrating the product close to the lash line, allowing the color to fade just under the crease. Third I applied MAC Pigment in Teal with the #242 brush from MAC and pressed it all over the black. I finished off with MAC Carbon (black eyeshadow) in the crease and black eyeliner. This is definitely a strong smoky eye, to be worn with a pale lip and a little contouring under the cheekbones. Give it a try!

Hi again! Do you have a picture of this particular look? Sounds great, but I’m not sure I can follow it based on your description alone! Are you suggesting using Jet Set all over the lid? How does that work….? thanks! 🙂

Hey Hazel, thanks for reminding me, the pics are up! I used the #242 brush to apply the Jet Set Liner, apply it just as you would regular eye shadow. Hope that helps!

Great, thanks! I meant to ask – what’s the purpose of putting JetSet all over the lid, instead of the black shadow you used for the crease? BTW, I got the Graphblack liner from MAC today! Can’t wait to try it… 😀

Well because the pigment is a loose powder, it needs a creamier substance underneath it to adhere properly. It also helps it last throughout the day. Enjoy the Graphblack!
