Reets shower cake

I went to the most amazing garden themed bridal shower on the weekend, these girls definitely brought their A game. From the decorations to the food, everything was on point! I wanted to share some pics with you to give you some shower inspo.

Reets shower Reet Dhillon

Here is the gorgeous bride, Reet. She looked so beautiful and yes her waist really is that tiny (hate her) love you Reet!

Reets shower drinks

Ok so I know there’s always this thing about do you serve alcohol at a bridal shower or don’t you.  I always think it’s a good idea to have some wine around, but don’t neglect the non-alcoholic drinks either.

The ladies did a fab job with these mason filled jars of iced tea and pink lemonade, it looked so cute! Don’t forget to add a wedge of lemon for that extra pretty look.

Reets shower flowers

The centre pieces were all these gorgeous floral arrangements in different glass jars and bottles, such a cute idea.

My outfit- the floral pj pants went perfectly with the theme and were sooo comfy. Note to self- don’t wear stiletto heels to an outdoor party. I was sinking in the ground all day lol.

Reets shower games

For the games, instead of clothes pins they used these cute moustaches :)

Reets shower pics

And saved the clothes pin for a clothing line of pictures all from Reet’s life, such an amazing idea.

What I wore- Printed Green and Fuchsia suit

Wednesday, May 28, 2014 0 0

Hello my beauties! Got another What I wore Wednesday post for you today, this one I love because of the gorgeous print on this green and fuchsia suit. I don’t know about you but when I was younger it was all about the bling, but now I find I’m really enjoying printed suits. The patterns that are out there are just so gorgeous!

Here’s the latest outfit I wore for this week’s episode of Eye on Asia. I love the diamond detail on this pink sari.

IMG_2938  The design of the earrings goes perfectly with the design on the sari.

The lipstick is what I call my “Indian Barbie pink” it’s by Illamasqua and it’s called Corrupt and it’s totally my newest lip obsession. You all know how much I love pink!

What I wore- Lavendar Anarkali

Wednesday, May 14, 2014 1 0

For this week’s episode of Eye on Asia I opted for a lavendar anarkali. I don’t have many pics to show except this one.

For the jewelry I loaded one arm with bangles and chose this gold spiked knuckle ring, plus big antique gold earrings. The earrings are surprisingly very lightweight, nothing like the heavy ones with the giant posts that make you curse your momma for forcing you to wear them. Lol, ahh memories.

The makeup is this week’s tutorial but I layered MAC Up the Amp overtop to tone down the darkness and make the shade a bit more mauve.

What I wore: Tiffany blue Sari

Wednesday, May 7, 2014 2 0

Hello my beauties! Got another what I wore post for you today, this one is a Tiffany blue sari I wore for this week’s Eye on Asia mother’s day episode. I love this color and it can be pretty hard to find in a sari but this one comes pretty close.

IMG_1989 I opted to go with non-Indian bracelets this time and wore these gorgeous chunky bangles I got from Bebe last summer. I love them, they dress any outfit up! I got the ring on a trip to my fav city in the world, Paris.

IMG_2000Of course I couldn’t go without my signature giant earrings. Gotta love being a girl lol. The makeup is from this week’s tutorial, based on Priyanka Chopra’s “I can’t make you love me” video except I added Illamasqua gloss in Frenzy on top. Have you seen her video yet? One of her best looks yet.IMG_2026IMG_2028 Let me help you put your best face forward with my “Shape your Face” workshop! All the details are here.

What I wore: Leopard print Indian style!

Yes you read it right, this week I wore a leopard print Indian style outfit for Eye on Asia. I have to say I am a fan of leopard, in doses, and done right, it can look pretty fun. This suit was no exception, the print combined with the red totally toned down the flashiness of it.

IMG_1935I bought this bracelet a while back I believe from aldo accessories, it goes perfectly with this outfit!

IMG_1940For the makeup I did up a red & black smokey eye and threw these crazy lashes on top. Anddd guess what? I filmed a tutorial on it! Post will be up on Friday.IMG_1945Are you a fan of leopard?

What I wore- Green and Pink Anarkali combo

Wednesday, April 23, 2014 6 0

On this week’s episode of Eye on Asia the look was- Spring. Why? Cause spring has finally sprung in Toronto (took a minute). This green and pink anarkali color combo is nostalgic of my childhood summers, back when color was everything!

Green and pink 3For the makeup I recreated my “Deepika Padukone Ram Leela Makeup Tutorial” which you can watch here. The only thing I changed was the lipstick, I used Illamasqua lipstick in Immodest and topped it with Frenzy gloss.

Green and pink 2 Deepa BerarFor the accessories we went for color in the bangles & bindi but kept the earrings neutral to balance the look.

What I wore- Purple sari & Easter makeup

Wednesday, April 16, 2014 3 0

On this week’s episode of Eye on Asia I opted for a sheer purple sari with silver detailing. I love the combination of jewel tones on South Asian skin, nothing is more flattering!

IMG_18072For the jewelry I decided on a necklace and paired it with a tikka. It’s not often that I wear a tikka, but when I do I try to balance the look by keeping the rest of the jewelry relatively simple. Well simple for an Indian girl anyways! ;)

IMG_1829For the makeup I wanted to do something springy and appropriate for Easter this coming weekend! It’s hard for those of us with South Asian skintones to pull off soft pastels, so instead I threw together Easter colors that would work on darker skin. I’ll be posting a makeup tutorial on how to get this look in a couple of days.

Wednesday, April 9, 2014 1 0

Here is the latest outfit from this week’s episode of Eye on Asia. I wore a white, yellow & pink anarkali suit. I love Anarkali’s because they are so elongating and slimming! I figured with Vaisakhi coming up I should wear something festive and bright! Hope you guys enjoy the pics.

Deepa Berar yellow anarkali IMG_1724 I wore these beautiful crystal and gold earrings and a two finger crystal ring. The earrings are from India and the ring is from Forever 21.

What I wore- Royal blue sari

Wednesday, April 2, 2014 2 0

It’s What I wore Wednesday! I thought I would revive this part of my blog as a lot of you have been requesting to see the outfits I wear every week on Eye on Asia. Here’s the outfit I wore for this week’s episode. It’s a chiffon royal blue sari with silver detailing. I love how the border is a thin strip of bejeweled silver and the rest of the detailing is just tiny silver dots all throughout the sari. Simple & stunning! Royal blue is definitely flattering on olive skin tones. Royal blue sari 6

Royal blue sari 5 I added a few silver bangles & these stunning crystal earrings, the shape is so unique and beautiful. Royal blue sari 4For the makeup I wanted my lips to pop so I layered MAC Riri Woo with Saint Germain over top. Love the resulting color.Royal blue sariRoyal blue sari 3To see more of my looks, watch Eye on Asia on City TV, weekends at 10am.
